Unhook Hoses from Faucets/PI Shutoff

Posted October 20, 2020

The City will begin draining the pressurized irrigation system on Thursday, October 22, 2020. It will take about 7 days to completely drain out. Pressure will first begin to drop for residents at the upper end of town near the mountains.

Once the system is shut down please be sure to turn off your sprinkler system. This will prevent unintended flooding in the spring.

In order to turn off your sprinkler system, open the green pressurized irrigation box that is located near the sidewalk. Turn the valve in the box perpendicular to the pipe. Watch out for black widow spiders: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZJSXAj0VNE

It is also a good idea to take the time to unhook your hoses from your outside water faucets to help prevent water freezing inside of the pipe.
