Fiesta Days Rodeo Nominated for PRCA Rodeo of the Year

Posted October 15, 2020

The Spanish Fork City Fiesta Days Rodeo was nominated as one of six rodeos this week to be the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year.

“It’s a great honor to be nominated for this prestigious award,” said Nick Hanks, the Fiesta Days Rodeo Chairman. “This nomination is something to show for the nearly 80 years we’ve worked to become a top rodeo in the PRCA. It also speaks to how closely we worked with State leaders and the precautions we took to host the rodeo during a pandemic.”

In addition to the rodeo receiving the nomination, the Fiesta Days Stock Contractor (Frontier Rodeo Company), Pickup Man (Rex Bugbee), Clown (JJ Harrison), and music director (Josh “Hambone” Hilton) also received nominations in their respective categories.

Next year’s 2021 Fiesta Days Rodeo Clown, Justin Rumford, was also nominated for Clown and Comedy Act of the Year.

“The best in the business come to the Fiesta Days Rodeo,” Hanks said. “That’s part of what makes our rodeo so great.”

Voting PRCA members will cast their ballots next week for award winners.  Spanish Fork is one of six nominees for Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year. The list includes Cody, Wyo., Deadwood, S.D., Dodge City, Kan., Gooding, Idaho, Prescott, Ariz., and Spanish Fork, Utah.
