Steve Leifson

Brief Bio:

I was born and raised in Spanish Fork to Ted and Ruth Leifson. I graduated from Spanish Fork High School and received an Associate Degree in Construction Management from Trade Tech (UVU). I am the President and owner of SML Construction Inc. I married Cheryl Cosgray Leifson. We have six children and eight grandchildren. I love to golf, ride my ATV, and watch my grandchildren in all their activities.
I have been the the Fiesta Day Parade Chairman. I have coached youth league sports for many years. I have volunteered for many city work projects. I currently serve as Mayor of Spanish Fork. I was on the City Council for two terms (8 years). I serve on the Utah Municipal Power Association (UMPA), South Utah Valley Power System (SUVPS). Council of Governments, Fairground Committee, Rodeo Committee and Personnel Committee. I represent Spanish Fork on a National Policy Maker Committee in Washington D.C. I love living in Spanish Fork, "Home of Pride and Progress".

Why Are You Running For Spanish Fork Mayor?

• To Promote Spanish Fork as an economically stable city with sufficient Jobs for our citizens.
• To have a voice with my fellow mayors in working with UDOT along with many state representatives to get better interstate access to our city.
• To focus budget support for our public service including police, fire, ambulance to meet the needs of our growing population and economy.
• To foster the many opportunities for Spanish Fork Citizens to unite in service for the betterment of our community: festivals, beautification, nurturing of our children and our senior citizens.
