Dennis R. Sorensen

Brief Bio:

I was born to James Bernell and Ila Mae Young Sorensen in the old Hughes Memorial Hospital. I had a normal childhood until I was 6 years old, when I broke my left arm. Due to some serious consequences, from the Doctor putting and leaving the cast on too tight, I spent the next 8 years in and out of the LDS and Primary Childrens Hospitals.
I attended school at the old Central School, Middle School, Jr. High and graduated from Spanish Fork High with the class of 72. That is also where I met my future wife.

I married Sharie Stallings in 1975. We have 2 children- Jeffery (JD) Sorensen and Stefanie (David) Swenson. We have 5 grandchildren.

I've worked in town most of my life. I started at the South end of town working for the Saturday Auction. I then gradually made my way North, working for Forseys, Bradshaws, Harward Irrigation, and currently work at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. I will retire in January after 22 plus years.

All my life I have wanted to serve in Spanish Fork. I have no other agenda other than to serve the people of Spanish Fork.

Why Are You Running For Spanish Fork City Council?

Because I want to serve. I have extensive knowledge of the Collections and Wastewater facility here in SF. With new regulations from the EPA and the State I can be very helpful navigating the changes and regulations that the City will need to deal with. I feel I can be helpful with many of the utilities that need to be upgraded to keep up with the growth.
