UPDATE (5/14/2020): Thank you to everyone who has applied for the rebate. We have used all the funds available for this program, so applications will no longer be accepted. We hope to have this program available again next year.
In participation with UMPA, Spanish Fork City is providing a rebate of up to $300 for residents who replace gas lawn equipment with electric equipment.
How much is the rebate?
For disposing of gas-powered yard equipment, you may qualify for the following rebates:
|Yard Equipment||Rebate with Disposal|
What if I don't own a gas-powered mower and am a first-time buyer of yard equipment, can I still qualify for the rebate?
At this time, this program is not available for first-time buyers. This may change in the future.
How long will the program be available?
Funds are limited so rebates will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
What is the process?
Step 1: To see if you qualify, you must first apply for the rebate. Apply at https://www.renewchoice.com/exchange-program/. You'll be required to provide some basic information that will be sent to Spanish Fork City to make sure you are in good standing and agree to comply with the terms of the program. Once your application is approved, you will receive an email confirming your approval with an Xchange form.
Step 2: Once approved, you must dispose of your gas-powered equipment at the South Utah Valley Solid Waste District transfer station (2450 W 400 S, Springville). Staff at the transfer station will certify your disposal and will sign and stamp your Xchange form. You must keep the signed and stamped form to qualify for the rebate.
Step 3: Once the equipment has been disposed, you may purchase the new electric-powered equipment.
Step 4: Upload the signed/stamped Xchange form and your purchase receipt. Once this has been reviewed, a rebate check will be mailed to you. The rebate check will not exceed the purchase price.
