Get your spring cleaning done while also staying safe! From April 27 to May 11, we will have dumpsters placed at five different locations in town.
WHERE CAN I DISPOSE OF WASTE?
Two dumpsters will be placed at each of the following five locations:
WHAT CAN I DUMP?
Please refer to the following list of items that are ok and not ok to dump:
OK | NOT OK |
---|---|
Rocks | Tires |
Green Waste | Fridges or freezers |
Trees | AC units with Freon |
Garbage | Oils or chemicals |
Toys | Flammable liquids |
Plastic | Electronics |
HOW CAN I DISPOSE OF ITEMS THAT CANNOT BE PLACED IN THE DUMPSTER?
Items that should not be placed in the dumpster can be disposed of at the transfer station in Springville (2450 W 400 S) for a fee. A list of those items, and their fees, is available on the District's website. For the month of April, the District is waiving the disposal fee for electronics. Contact the District (801.489.3027) for more information.
WHY IS THE CITY DOING THIS PROGRAM?
In recent weeks, the South Utah Valley Solid Waste District (SUVSWD) has seen a significant increase in the number of individuals dropping waste off at the transfer station in Springville. By having several drop-off locations in town over a two-week period, with two dumpsters at each location, we hope to help residents dispose of their "spring-cleaning" waste while also implementing social-distancing practices.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE DUMPSTER IS FULL?
If you arrive at one of the locations and both of the dumpsters are full, DO NOT LEAVE YOUR WASTE NEXT TO THE DUMPSTER OR PILE IT ON TOP, please call the District at 801.489.3027. The District will be replacing dumpsters routinely throughout the day, and calling them will expedite that process. You can then either wait for the new dumpster to be delivered, or can drive to another drop-off location to dispose of your waste.
