Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

Public Safety

Come join the Spanish Fork Community Emergency Response Team! Did you know that Spanish Fork was the first community in the State of Utah to have a team?

What is CERT?

Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) are trained volunteers to help communities mitigate disasters during and following a disaster when first responder’s efforts may be exhausted or delayed. The purpose of CERT training is to provide citizens with the basic skills that they will need to handle their own needs and then to respond to their community needs in the aftermath of a disaster.

What topics are included in the training?

Disaster preparedness, the CERT organization, medical operations, disaster psychology, fire safety and utility control, light search and rescue, terrorism, and concludes with a mock disaster.

How often are courses held?

Currently, we are offering the course twice a year. In October, and in April.
