COVID-19 Policies

Parks & Recreation

We will be following the state’s current phased guidelines. Participants should have their symptoms checked prior to each session. For minors, it will be the responsibility of the parent or guardian to do this. Participants or spectators should be kept home if they have any of the following COVID-19 symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, chills, headache, muscle aches, shortness of breath, or decreased sense of smell or taste.

Youth Wrestling:

  1. We will have smaller meets at more locations.
  2. We will form smaller teams if possible, which means we will need additional volunteer coaches.
  3. Only ONE PARENT or GUEST will be allowed to attend practices and meets. This will be STRICTLY enforced.
  4. The participant MUST be symptom checked prior to each practice and meet. The participant should be kept home if they have any of the following COVID-19 symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, chills headache, muscle aches, shortness of breath, or decreased sense of smell or taste.
  5. There will be 5 meets during the season. There will NOT be an end-of-season inter-squad.
  6. Parent/person attending will be required to wear a MASK during practices and meets.
  7. Participant/parent should bring hand sanitizer to all practices and meets and the participant should sanitize their hands before and after each practice or match.
  8. Meets will start at 6:00 pm or 7:30 pm and will be 1 hour only. Please exit the practice or meet immediately to allow our staff to clean and sanitize the area.

Spanish Fork Recreation reserves the right to make any changes to the wrestling program as well as cancellations as necessary due to COVID-19. If the program is canceled prior to the beginning of the season full refunds will be issued.
Parents who are not willing to follow these guidelines should NOT sign up their child for wrestling.


Youth Basketball:

  1. Teams will be formed with 8 players or less when possible. Volunteer coaches are needed! Contact Paul at 801-804-4613 or by email at pjamison@spanishfork.org
  2. The participant must be symptom checked prior to each practice and league game. The participant must be kept home if they have any of the following COVID-19 symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, chills, headache, muscle aches, shortness of breath, or decreased sense of smell or taste.
  3. Masks will be required for all spectators and participants when entering and exiting each practice and each game.
  4. Social distancing will be mandatory for all practice locations and game locations for all spectators. If unable to social distance masks will be required to be worn for all spectators during practices and games. Some locations may restrict the number of spectators allowed. Information regarding any spectator limits will be included on the schedules.
  5. Game time may be adjusted to accommodate spectators entering and exiting. When possible a separate entrance and exit door will be used. Please exit the practice location or game location immediately to allow our staff time to clean and sanitize the area.
  6. Participant/parent should bring hand sanitizer to all practices and games and the participant should sanitize their hands before and after each practice and game.

Spanish Fork Recreation reserves the right to make any changes to the youth basketball program as well as cancellations as necessary due to COVID-19. If the program is canceled prior to the beginning of the season full refunds will be issued.
Parents who are not willing to follow these guidelines should NOT sign up their child for basketball or request a refund no later than Monday, October 19, 2020 by contacting the Recreation Office at 801-804-4600.


Little Hoopsters:

  1. Parents/Guardians MUST symptom check their participant(s) prior to each session. The participant MUST be kept home if they have any of the following COVID-19 symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, chills, headache, muscle aches, shortness of breath, or decreased/lost sense of smell or taste.

  2. We ask that all coaches, spectators and participants wear masks when entering and exiting each session. Coaches and all other spectators should wear their mask during each session. Participants are not required to wear a mask while playing. Please limit how many people your family brings to the program. Spanish Fork Parks & Recreation may at some point during the program, restrict the number of spectators based on local/state health recommendations.

  3. Session time may be adjusted to accommodate spectators entering and exiting. When possible a separate entrance and exit door will be used. Please exit the session location or game location immediately to allow our staff time to clean and sanitize the area.

  4. Participant/parent should bring hand sanitizer to all sessions and the participant should
    sanitize their hands before, during and after each session.
