What is SFCN?

SFCN is the Spanish Fork Community Network that is being installed around town. It connects the citizens of Spanish Fork using both coax and fiber optic cables and offers new and exciting services. The SFCN offers enhanced City and emergency services in addition to community enhanced cable television and high speed internet access.

If you use one of the many national e-mail services you can. If your e-mail is through a local ISP they may charge to maintain your e-mail address or you can change to an SFCN email account.

How fast is the High Speed Internet?

The system will offer high speed cable modem access. Realistic access speeds will be in the 1-3 Mbs range but will be affected by the number of users on the system. While theoretical limits are 37Mbs downstream and 10Mbs upstream (the system is asymmetrical) actual rates will be lower. It is important to point out that although other systems may be touting 10Mb or even 100 Mb access actual internet or even inter-system access will be far less than advertised. Most important to having a fast, reliable system is to design with low home/node ratios and ensuring an adequate internet pipe for the system. The Spanish Fork Community Network has been designed to offer "Always On, Always Fast" service for internet access.
