Firework Safety, Hours of Discharge, & Restrictions
The holidays on July 4 and July 24 bring out the fireworks. While
these flame throwers are awesome to watch, they can be dangerous to
people and to the dry landscape around Utah. As you purchase
fireworks, Spanish Fork City reminds you of the municipal laws
associated with discharging fireworks found in the Municipal Code
ยง9.40.010:
The use of fireworks is prohibited in all of the Industrial 3 (I-3)
zones;
The use of fireworks is prohibited in all areas south of the
Spanish Fork River from the west end of the Spanish Oaks Golf Course,
eastwardly to the city limits;
The use of fireworks is prohibited within 200 feet of any open
field, unimproved lot with dry vegetation, or a lot with a vacant
building and dry vegetative growth on the lot.
Days and Times Fireworks Are Permitted
The State of Utah regulates the days and hours of the day when
fireworks can be discharged.
July 1-7, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM. On July 4, hours are extended until
midnight.
July 21-27, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM. On July 24, hours are extended until
midnight.
The State of Utah and Utah County have restricted the use of ALL fireworks
in any unincorporated area of the State and County. In addition, many
cities have imposed restrictions in their communities similar to Spanish
Fork.
The following map shows areas of Spanish Fork where
fireworks are restricted; those areas are outlined in red. The map also
shows the mountains, foothill areas and the unincorporated areas of the
county where fireworks are restricted.
