Spanish Fork City is proud to announce the 2011 Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Grand Parade. This year's theme is "FIESTA DAYS - THE PLACE 2B". The parade will begin at 9:00am on Monday, July 25, 2011. The first half of the parade lineup must be in their assigned space no later than 8:00am, with the second half in place by 9:30am. You will need to register and be in place by your assigned time to confirm your placement in the line-up.

As was done last year, judging of floats will be done as floats proceed along the parade route. Cash prizes will be given to the top three winning floats! Judging will be done based on how well the float supports this year's theme, with preference being given to those floats that are most original and are shown to be "crowd favorites."

Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Parade is one of the biggest events during our city celebration. We hope you will join us this year for the fun and excitement. We look forward to receiving your entry form. The entry deadline is June 15, 2011. Please be sure to get your application in early! Entries received after this date will be charged a $50 LATE FEE if they are accepted into the parade.

This year's parade will be limited to approximately 100 entries, and preference will be given to non-commercial entries and to commercial entries whose floats support this year's parade theme. Due to this limited availability, submitting a parade application form does not guarantee entrance into the parade line-up.

Please review the attached information and return your entry application including a detailed description and photo (or sketch) of your float/entry-as soon as possible. Applications MUST be submitted online at www.spanishfork.org. Applications should be received no later than June 15, 2011. HOWEVER, PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE PAYMENT WITH YOUR APPLICATION. An acceptance or denial letter will be mailed to you two (2) weeks after receiving your application. The decision of the parade committee regarding which entries are and which entries are not accepted into the parade is final. The parade lineup and other necessary information will be mailed out 14 days (two weeks) prior to the parade.

The purpose of the Fiesta Days Parade is to provide fun, relaxation and patriotism for the citizens of Spanish Fork and the viewing audience. The safety and operation of your float, group or organization are your sole responsibility. The parade committee reserves the right to cancel any accepted entry at any time should it be determined that the entry does not comply with the purpose of the parade. In addition, by submitting your application, you agree to release Spanish Fork City and its representatives from any and all liabilities related in any way to your organization's participation in the parade.

THERE WILL BE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ANY PROJECTILE (candy, objects, water, etc.) thrown from any moving vehicle or by any individual. Any water shooting device (blasters, cannons or squirt guns) are prohibited. Items thrown create a hazardous environment for spectators running toward moving vehicles. Also, spectators have complained about being sprayed by water. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE REGULATIONS WILL RESULT IN YOUR IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM THE PARADE. If you are removed, no refund will be given.

New this year - If your organization feels that distributing literature, candy or small items (balls, Frisbees, etc.) is beneficial to your parade entry here is how to do it: Out walkers will be allowed to handout (not throw) candy, flyers or other items during the pre-parade time slot from 8:00am to 9:00am. An ATV is permissible as a hauling device. If your pre-parade out walkers are associated with an approved parade entry, there is no additional fee. If you are participating in the pre-parade only, application deadline is June 15, 2011. Upon acceptance, a fee of $125 will be due.
