For families, there will be a ten mile family fun ride that will be routed from the same parking lot at the high school to the Benjamin Park and back. This ride will begin at 8:00 a.m.

The Blue Haven Foundation has been founded for the purpose of assisting surviving spouses of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. During the tumultuous mourning of these lost heroes, the surviving spouses are left searching for the love and support of someone who understands the uniqueness of what they are facing.

Blue Haven’s mission is to provide a community where those widowed from a line of duty death can be united through tragedy. By partnering current widows as mentors along with mental health professionals, Blue Haven is able to provide long term emotional assistance for the newly widowed. The key is that this assistance comes from others who have already been through the unique tragedy of a line-of-duty death. We have made it our goal to have our mentors contact each newly widowed spouse and provide them with a “grief box” of personalized items and resources other widows have used to help with the process of losing an officer. After this initial contact, bonds of friendship and sorority are created and long term healing can be facilitated. The Blue Haven Foundation is a qualified 501(C3) organized and operated by widows and former officers for widows and widowers across the nation.

Blue Haven is proud to partner with the City of Spanish Fork in our effort to make a difference in the lives of those widowed by such tragedy. We hope this event will become a staple in the Fiesta Days Celebration and provide assistance for years to come. A portion of the proceeds will be donated directly to the Spanish Fork Police Department as discretionary funds for the Chief to assign as needed, as a way to thank our fantastic police department for all they do.
