2011 City Elections

Would you like to run for City Council?
Qualifications to be a candidate are:
- Be a United States citizen at the time of filing.
- Be a registered voter of the municipality.
- Be a resident of the city for 12 consecutive months prior to the November election date.
- To not be a convicted felon.
Filing period and deadline runs from July 1 to July 15
during regular business hours (Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM).
Candidate must file (in person) a "Declaration of Candidacy" with the City Recorder before July 15 at 5:00 p.m. For information about the election, please contact the City Recorder - Kent Clark at 804-4520 or in person at 40 South Main, Suite 110.
Three (3) Council seats are up for election.

There will be no primary election.
General Election Information
Early Voting: October 25 to November 4, 2011
Election Day: Tuesday, November 8, 2011
Last day to register to vote by mail:
30 days before election day.
Last day to register to vote at the County Clerks Office in person:
15 days before election day.
