Would you like to run for Mayor or City Council?
Qualification to be a candidate are:
- Be a United States citizen at the time of filing.
- Be a registered voter of the municipality.
- Be a resident of the city for 12 consecutive months prior to the November election date.
- To not be a convicted felon.
Filing period and deadline runs from July 1 to July 15 at 5:00 p.m.
Candidate must file (in person) a "Declaration of Candidacy" with the City Recorder before July 15 at 5:00 p.m. For information about the election, please contact the City Recorder - Kimberly Robinson at 804-4530 or in person at 40 South Main, Suite 130.
One (1) Mayor seat is up for election.
