Spanish Fork Police Department

Message from the Chief

The basic mission of any police agency is to provide the conditions for peace and security to the community. This can only be accomplished by working close with the community, education and awareness and enforcement. The first level of service, Community Involvement, provides opportunities for police to interact with residents. This interaction creates a positive perception and understanding of the men and women responsible for protecting our rights and property. This positive perception then translates into trust and confidence during a crisis.

The second level of service, Education, brings valuable information to citizens through some of our police/community programs, i.e. Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), Neighborhood Watch, School Resource Officers, Public Presentations, Neighborhood Problem Solving, etc.. . Through these programs and information gleaned from them people can make informed choices and govern their lives responsibly.

The third level of service, Enforcement, presents a significant challenge to Spanish Fork's police department. The laws of the State and of Spanish Fork City, when applied fairly and consistently, maintain a peaceful society. Officers must take a professional, compassionate and sincere approach to law enforcement. Community involvement, education, and enforcement enhance an agency's ability to perform effective and efficient policing, ensuring protection of lives, property and constitutional rights. The confidence citizens have in the Spanish Fork Police Department rests on these components.
