In the early morning hours, newly assigned narcotics officer Detective Phil Nielsen and other officers from the Spanish Fork Police, Utah County Sheriffs Office and Utah County Major Crimes, served a search warrant on a suspected drug home in the South East part of Spanish Fork. Several items of drug paraphernalia and illegal drugs were located. A 33 year old male was arrested for possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and sex crimes. A 17 year old female was arrested for possession of paraphernalia and methamphetamine as well as the status offense of curfew. Around 7:30 PM at JJ's Bar a truck was vandalized. The suspect flattened all four tires and scratched the entire left side and dented the drivers door. The owner of this truck is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible. A blue 1989 Lincoln Continental, license plate number 882 VCK was reported stolen from a local business. In the trunk of this car were two shotguns. Detective Courtney Jones, who is, currently assigned with the Utah County Major Crimes Task Force, executed a search warrant at a residence in Orem. The warrant was the result of several months of investigation. The warrant led to the arrest of a 28 year old male who was in possession of over two hundred 80 mg OxyContin pills. The street value of the pills is approximately $17,000.00. The suspect was known to travel to Las Vegas where he purchased the pills from another suspect. The suspect had ties with Spanish Fork City and sold to several mid level dealers in the Spanish Fork, Springville and Payson areas. Several other suspects with ties to the 28 year old male are still under investigation.
