April 25, 2005

Detective Phil Nielsen stopped a vehicle who's driver had a suspended drivers license and and oustanding warrant. Ryan Templeman was arrested for his warrant and for driving on suspension and a search incident to arrest was done. Ryan was found to be in possession of Cocaine, Heroin, Marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. The vehicle passenger, Lori Templeman, also had two outstanding warrants for her arrest. She was arrested. She was found to be in possession of Cocaine, Heroin, Methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

April 18, 2005

A citizen called police at around 4:00am stating that there were people stealing items out of cars. Officers Tony Lunceford, Lance Rudd and Morgan Warner of Spanish Fork Police and Salem Officer Nielsen responded to the area of 400 North 1200 East. Officers were able to find and apprehend six males and one female. Their ages ranged from 18 to 22 years old. All were referred to Spanish Fork District Court.

April 17, 2005

At around 5:00am two adult males were seen stealing construction material from a new home under construction in the South West part of Spanish Fork. The resident who observed the men called the police.

Sergeant Brandon Anderson and Officer Lance Rudd were able to respond to the area and apprehend the suspects. The suspects indicated they were planning on using the stolen items in their homes. Both were referred to Spanish Fork District Court.

April 14, 2005

Detective Phil Nielsen stopped a vehicle who's driver had a revoked license and an outstanding warrant. The driver, Lee Berrett was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance, driving on revocation, and his oustanding warrant.

April 12, 2005

A Spanish Fork resident returned to her home to find an unknown adult male inside. A brief conversation took place were the male indicated, among other things, that he was there to install tile. He was told that she did not make an order for tile to be installed. The male left the residence. The Spanish Fork resident obtained a license plate number off of the vehicle the suspect was driving. This information was passed on to Officer Zach Adams. A suspect name was located and the case assigned to Detective John Jackson. With the help of officers from Sanpete County and Gunnison Police Department the suspect Blair Anderson was located in Mayfield, Utah. Detective Jackson and Sgt Richard Hales met with the suspect and were able to obtain a confession. The suspected indicated that he was in the home to steal prescription pills. Anderson was booked into the Utah County Jail.

April 5, 2005

Officer Cade Harding made a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. Officer Harding made contact with the driver and found the driver was driving on a suspended drivers license and had a warrant for his arrest. The driver was also found to have stolen property in his possession. Stephen Martin was booked into the Utah County Jail for a warrant for his arrest, possession of stolen property and traffic violations.

A citizen confronted a driver of a car that he thought was driving too fast. During this confrontation the driver made a jester to the citizen and the citizen responded by throwing a base ball at the car causing minor damage. The two parties then came face to face where another jester was made by the driver to the citizen. The citizen grabbed the finger of the driver and bent it backwards. They broke apart from each other and left the area. The incident was reported to the police and interviews of the parties were conducted. Because of the actions of the citizen he was referred to the city courts for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. Although it is very frustrating to see reckless drivers on our streets, please do not take things into your own hands, call the police.

April 4, 2005

At around 1:30am a suspicious male was noticed in the area of 800 North 200 East. Officer Lance Rudd made contact with the male who was identified as Randy Griffiths. Officer Rudd found Griffiths to be in possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Girffiths was booked into the Utah County Jail.

A Spanish Fork residence was awoken around 2:00am by some unusual noises in his yard. He went investigate the what was making the noise and found two people in his yard. He spoke with them and they could not give a good reason for their being there. Later that morning the resident noticed that some yard machines were missing. The case was assigned to Detective John Jackson. Some days later Detective Jackson found the stolen property at a Murray pawn shop. Those that had pawned the property were located by Officer Zach Adams. Detective Jackson interviewed the suspects and obtained a confession. Both Jessica Chapple and Jacob Liebig were arrested for the theft and booked into the Utah County Jail.

April 1, 2005

IFA reported that they had several tires stolen from their business.
Several days later a Deputy from Millard County Sheriffs Office contacted Spanish Fork Police indicating that he had information regarding the theft and was trying to verify what he had heard. After getting the details of the theft the Deputy made contact with the suspect. The Deputy recovered seven of the eight tires stolen and a confession from the suspect.

March 29, 2005

Detective Courtney Jones along with officers from the Utah County Major Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant in the central part of Spanish Fork. The occupants of the home, a 24 year old male and a 31 year old female were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia in a drug free zone. The suspects admitted to officers that they had been using cocaine early that same day.

Follow up on a vehicle burglary. During the early morning hours of January 9th, 2005 Officer Lance Rudd noticed a a vehicle that appeared to have been broken into. Upon further investigation it was determined that a vehicle burglary had taken place. Officer Rudd contacted the owner and processed the vehicle for latent finger prints. Latent finger prints were found and sent to the crime lab. It was determined that the finger prints belong to a male living in Spanish Fork. Detective John Jackson interviewed the suspect. The suspect could give no reason for his finger prints to be on the vehicle. He also denied committing the vehicle burglary. The case has been referred to the City Attorney.
