Current Eagle Projects as of August 25, 2008

NOTICE: Some projects are marked DONE or TAKEN on a specific date. These projects usually require periodic repeat maintenance. If a year or two has transpired the project probably needs to be done again. Check with the Spanish Fork City Eagle Projects Coordinator or research the project at the location for updated information.

If after looking around you have ideas for other projects that are City related please contact the Spanish Fork City Eagle Projects Coordinator for approval.

Canyon View Park (on Powerhouse road next to golf course)

  1. RV Park Picnic Table and Post Painting (DONE June, 2007) Available March 2009. Warm/dry weather(April - October) project only.
    • Prepare and paint picnic tables and legs (13 tables). Repair tables if necessary
    • Prepare and paint RV station posts (24 posts). Set them upright if necessary
    • Prepare and paints signs
    • Clean up trails leading to the Canyon View park below
    • Clean up trash on the hill side

  2. Roadways Within the Park (DONE March 2007) Available again March 2009. Warm/dry weather (April - October) project only.
    • Set toppled barrier posts upright if necessary
    • Prepare and paint silver barrier posts

  3. Stair Tower Painting (DONE July 2005) Available again March 2008. Warm/dry weather (April - October) project only.
    • Replace broken and missing balusters
    • Pressure wash to prepare for staining
    • Prepare and stain stair tower

  4. Picnic Tables (24) Benches (9) (TAKEN June 2007) Available again March 2009. Warm/dry weather(April - October) project only.
    • Replace any broken and missing boards
    • Prepare tables and benches to stain/paint by scraping off old material
    • Stain/Paint tables and benches

  5. RV Park EAST & WEST (TAKEN July 2007) Available again July 2008
    • Clear weeds from parking area and around curb
    • Clear weeds and bushes from around parking area
    • Pick up trash from parking area and down the hillside to the Canyon View Park
    • Clean up trails leading to the Canyon View park below

  6. Park Gazebo (TAKEN August 2007) Available again March 2009. Warm/dry weather(April - October) project only.

  1. Don's Field Bleachers (TAKEN August 2008) Available again August 2011. Warm/dry weather(April - October) project only.
    • Repair foot boards and tighten loose bolts
    • Pressure wash old loose paint from bleaches

    • Protect brick and concrete from paint splatters

Fairgrounds Facility (475 South Main Street)
  1. Paint Under the Grandstand Bleachers at the Fairgrounds. (DONE June 2007) Available March 2009. Warm/dry weather(April - October) project only.
    • Scrape old paint, prepare, prime and paint the support structure under the grandstand
    • Prepare and paint the block buildings under the grandstand, inside and out.

  2. Stall Barn Painting at the Fairgrounds. 13 Projects (11 Taken October 2007 - August 2008) 2 Available August 2008. Warm/dry weather(April - October) project only.
    • Prepare and paint in one of the Stall Barns(Usually 30 panels)

  3. Miscellaneous Painting around the Fairgrounds #1. (DONE October 2007) Available again March 2009. Warm/dry weather(April - October) project only.
    • Prepare and paint the 12 awning posts at the large indoor arena
    • Prepare and paint various stall locations
    • Prepare and paint various fencing locations and moveable panels

  4. Miscellaneous Painting around the Fairgrounds #2. (DONE July 2008) Available April 2010. Warm/dry weather(April - October) project only.
    • Prepare and paint the exterior railings around the tennis court building and the small indoor arena
    • Prepare and paint the railing on the canal bridge
    • Prepare and stain the canal bridge
    • Prepare and paint the railing around the flag pole area
    • Prepare and paint the concrete foundation on the High Chaparral Building

Miscellaneous Locations
  1. City Park Tables, Benches and Playground (DONE May 2007) Available March 2009. Warm/dry weather(April - October) project only.
    • Prepare and paint the benches in front of the library (5 benches)
    • Repair, prepare and paint the picnic tables on the city library park grounds
    • There are 11 wooden tables that need painting including the legs
    • There are 9 aluminum tables that need only the legs painted
    • Prepare and paint the large swing set
    • Prepare and paint the playground geodesic dome

  2. Cemetery Fence Painting. 16 Projects (All DONE or TAKEN for now) UPDATE: 1 STILL AVAILABLE! Available Again March 2010. Warm/dry weather(April - October) project only.
    • Prepare and paint a 25 panel section of the wrought iron fence along 400 South or along Scenic Drive
    • Replace the missing spindle finials

  3. Spanish Oaks Camp Ground. (DONE August 2008) Warm/dry weather(April - October) project only. Available again summer of 2009.
    • Clear weeds, grass, and underbrush from around the camp sites
    • Dispose of all debris in construction dumpster, provided by the city


Eagle Project Information

Spanish Fork City Eagle Project Coordinator: Bill Bushman Phone: 921-9818 (Please call during business hours, M-F, 7 am to 6 pm.)

  1. Select a project from the list.
  2. Clear your selection with Bill Bushman.
  3. Fill out the Eagle project paper work including detailed plans of the project.
  4. Meet with Bill to gain approval and sign off.
  5. Meet with Eagle Project Committee for approval.
  6. Do the project.
  7. Meet with Bill again to sign off completion of the project.

Typically Spanish Fork City will provide materials and supplies for the project depending on budget constraints. Spanish Fork can also help with some equipment and tools if necessary.
