Cultural Arts Education for Adults

January 24 - February 28, 2009
For anyone 18 or older, this 6-week workshop will be held each Saturday morning at Spanish Fork High School starting January 24 and running through February 28. Classes will offer top-quality instruction in drawing, painting, songwriting, creative writing, dance, theater/drama, and more. Registration through the Parks and Recreation office (798-4068) will begin January 5, 2009. If you are interested in teaching one of the classes listed or have an idea for one not listed, please contact Bjorn Pendleton at 798-0792, or by email: arts@sfcn.org.


Harvest Moon Hurrah

September 20, 200. 4:00pm-10pm at the Library Park - Children's Crafts, 5 hours of Fantastic Live Entertainment - including popular a cappella group Eclipse, Giant Straw Bale Maze, Pony Rides, Hay Wagon Rides with Live Bluegrass Band, Giant Mosaic Mural, Photo Booth, Caricature Artist, and much, much more! Everyone in the community is invited. Bring your entire family!


Nebo Chorale (Community Choir)

Under the direction of Rick Lunt, the 08-09 concert season for the Nebo Chorale will begin with a performance at the Harvest Moon Hurrah on September 20. Our focus will then turn to the Christmas season as we prepare for our annual Christmas concert on December 10. Our Winter/Spring semester provides the opportunity to perform with the Utah Valley Children’s Choir, Payson Civic Chorale, Nebo Philharmonic Orchestra, and other groups for the annual Combined Community Easter Concert in the Provo Tabernacle, Friday, April 10. We finish the season with our Spring Concert, Choral Kaleidoscope, in May--—date TBD. The Nebo Chorale is NOT an audition choir. Anyone with a desire to sing is encouraged to join, especially men. Come be a part of a fun and talented group and share your talents and love for music and singing. Practices are every Thursday (Starting September 4, 2008) 7:00-9:00 pm at American Leadership Academy (898 W. 1100 S. Membership fee: $20 per person, per semester. Nebo Philharmonic Orchestra - Concert Season 2008-09

The Nebo Philharmonic Orchestra is pleased to present their 2008-2009 concert season: Three of a Kind. After a performance at the Harvest Moon Hurrah on September 20, they will officially kick off their concert season with Three Jacks October 21 in Nephi, and October 24 in Spanish Fork. On December 9 & 12 they will present Three Kings. Then comes Three Queens on February 24 and 27. They will finish off the season with Three Dueces on April 28 and May 1.

The Nebo Philharmonic Orchestra is a 75-piece Symphony Orchestra of muscial excellence and unusual versatility. Each year the orchestra enthralls audiences in a wide variety of venues ranging from formal concerts to fairs and rodeos.

The NPO's music director and conductor, Benjamin K. Winkler, brings over 30 years of international conducting experience to the podium. He is currently also the director of the Riverton Metropolitan Orchestra.
