The mission of the Spanish Fork Arts Council is to enrich the quality of life in the community through broadened availability, collaboration, promotion, education, and increased appreciation of the cultural arts.

Did You Know?

Did you know Spanish Fork City and the Spanish Fork Arts Council sponsor a fabulous Youth Arts Festival every summer? Maybe you are one of the few residents privy to such an interesting fact. But then again, maybe not. Maybe you are among the hundreds living in Spanish Fork that had no idea! In either case, it is time to learn more.

Did you know the Youth Arts Festival is a two-week event lasting from Monday, June 16 through Friday, June 27 at Spanish Fork High School? You choose the classes and times that work for your family.

Did you know 30 different courses are offered? Everything from A to Y: from Arts and Crafts to Young Artists and everything in between. You can find a class schedule in this newsletter and complete class descriptions at our website www.spanishfork.org --check under the Parks and Rec department. You can also find full details in the summer catalog distributed by the Parks and Recreation office.

Did you know we have instructors with exceptional credentials? All of our instructors are professionals in their field of expertise. They each have years of experience teaching young people. They are well known for their abilities, and are passionate about helping your child "discover the arts."

Did you know the Youth Arts Festival is without a doubt the most affordable way to provide valuable instruction for your children? We want all of our youth to have the chance to "discover the arts," and have worked to make these classes both valuable and affordable. Don't pass up the opportunity to learn from such excellent teachers at a fraction the cost of their yearly classes.

Did you know that your kids could take multiple classes? Every age group has an opportunity to take multiple classes back to back. Even better, you could drop off all your children in various age ranges at the same time and there would be a fabulous class for each of them!

Did you know we've added a Kick-Off Celebration this year? We will have a picnic in the park on our first day of classes, Monday, June 16 from 6:30-7:30 pm. Come to the city park by the library; bring your blankets, dinner if you want, family and friends. We will have a great performance by Jaden Bliss and prizes and giveaways for all youth registered in the "Discovering the Arts" Youth Arts Festival. All community members invited.

Do you know how to register? Drop by the Parks and Recreation department any time after May 12th. Classes fill on a first come, first serve basis and there are limited, so don't delay! The Parks and Recreation office is located at 428 West Center Street on Spanish Fork High School campus or call them at 798-4068.
