Watch the Spanish Fork 17 Interview

Brief Bio:

Alex was raised in Spanish Fork, attending and graduating from our local schools. He attended UVSC studying business and real estate law. He is married to Katie, and they have 3 daughters and one son. Alex was mentored by his grandfather, Verl Stone, who served as a councilman for Spanish Fork, and as a Utah County Commissioner. This instilled in him at an early age a desire to be involved in community service and politics. He served as a county and state delegate and is currently serving as a precinct chair.

The first job experience Alex had was working for the Parks and Recreation department at the old ballpark and then at the golf course. At the age of 16 he began working for a local painting contractor, Jerry Tadd. Soon after serving an LDS mission, he took over the painting business which he still owns and runs today. In addition, he is a licensed realtor, real estate investor, and owns and operates a property management company.

In his spare time, Alex enjoys scuba diving, camping with his family, golfing, teaching his children tennis, woodworking, reading, learning new things, and going for walks with his family.

Why Are You Running For Spanish Fork City Council?

I have a great love for this town, and I want my children to have the same opportunities and values that I was offered living here.

We currently are experiencing a large amount of growth in our community as our neighbors, children, and others have a desire to reside here because of the same things that drew us here. My vision for Spanish Fork is to maintain the small town feeling that I love, while we effectively plan for healthy growth. Much of this can be accomplished through strong businesses that keep our tax dollars here; strong and appropriate city infrastructure; community service and involvement; increasing the arts; maintaining and implementing our recreation programs; and offering opportunities in our community that represent our values.

I have had the opportunity to appear before many different city councils, both in our town and those throughout the county. Through these and other experiences, I have learned the importance of truly listening to all sides of every issue, and often times, that there is more than one solution to the issues that are facing us.

I feel it a privelige to live in Spanish Fork and want it to stay a place where family values are important and felt. I look forward to serving the community and doing all that I can to build and improve on the strong foundation that we have.
